Dr. Kusuma KS.
I have done my MBBS from Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Tumkur and M.D Biochemistry from
M.S Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore.
I was awarded the “BEST OUTGOING POSTGRADUATE STUDENT AWARD” from the
Dept of Biochemistry, M.S Ramaiah Medical College in the year 2009.
I have been a part of a small non-registered organization called VIKAS during my MBBS days.
It was very interesting to work for children and other social causes during our undergraduate days.
We did it with the little pocket money that we could save from what was given to us by our parents.
After a gap of about 6-8 yrs after my MBBS, as I loved to spend time with small kids, I got involved in teaching small kids
(Balvikas of Sri Sathya Sai Organization) at a local bhajan centre in Bangalore. It was not only teaching but a lot of learning for me during the process. During the same time I learnt Reiki (Energy Healing Process – Level 1, 2 & 3A) which has fulfilled my spiritual thirst.
Teaching is my passion and I have loved it every bit. Working in the lab and coming in contact with the patients in the hospital has fulfilled my dreams of serving the society.
During my tenure at M.S Ramaiah Medical College as an Assistant Professor in the Dept of Biochemistry, i was involved in various research projects which have an impact on the community. I have guided a student for ICMR project. I was also a Co-guide for the Belgian student who came here for internship program. I have four research publications in various National and International journals.
Currently (since 2018), I am working as assistant Professor in the department of Biochemistry, JSS Medical College and continuing my passion of teaching and serving humanity.
Dr. Kishor M Rao.
Has keen interest in social initiatives since his graduate days, he played key role in
initiating medical students association for social concerns (ViKaS)
during college days. He is currently Associate Professor @ JSS Medical College,
JSS University & Consultant @JSS Hospital, Mysore, Karnataka, India.
He completed his MD from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore
with University Rank & has received State Award as Best Postgraduate Original Research Paper.
He has received National Fellowship from Dr. Ramachandr N Moorthy Foundation for Early Career Professional & is trained under Prof Norman Sartorius.
He was first editor & co-Founding Member: India’s first monthly newsletter on psychiatry ‘MINDS’ & also co-initiator of website www.psychiatry4u.com
He was first editor “Manassu” a Kannada Bimonthly for Public.
He is Editor & author of 3 books - including “Glimpses of Psychiatry for Doctors & Medical Students” ; “ Essentials of Psychiatry for OBG practitioners” & Kannada Book “Manassu, Mansina thondaregalu".
He is in Editorial board of National Journal. Invited Reviewer of International Journals.
He has published original research, has presented papers and chaired scientific sessions in International, National and regional conferences. He has conducted symposium in UG/PG National conferences. His Areas of Interest are; Integration of social & health issues, Medical Education, Suicide Prevention, Substance Use & Addiction Medicine, Cognitive Disorders like Alzheimer’s Pharmacogenomics, Interface of Psychiatry with other speciality, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry & Geriatric Psychiatry.
He is invited speaker and resource person to academic as well as public health programs, including at the All India Radio, Mysore (Mysore Akashvani)
He was invited Guest Faculty of Medicine, AIMST University, Malaysia
He was JSS University Delegate to Mayo Clinic USA
He is active in many Social Initiatives, Nature Conservation & Bird Watching,
He loves writing, reading & traveling.

Dr. Kiran Kumar K
Dr. Kiran Kumar K., specializes in the field of Psychiatry with 14 years of experience. He is a qualified MBBS Doctor from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore, which he completed in 2005. Then he pursued his Master of Doctorate degree in Psychiatry from Mysore JSS Medical College. He was the gold medalist (first rank in MD Psychiatry) from RGUHS for the Year 2009 and was the Best outgoing MD (Psychiatry) from JSS Medical College Mysore. Dr. Kiran has been awarded Kateel Appu Pai award from IPS- Karnataka Chapter. He is associated with Indian Psychiatric Society and Indian Association of Private Psychiatry as a Life member and Past Hon. Editor of IPS-KC and Past Hon. Secretary of IAPP-KB respectively.
Teaching is one of his passion and Dr. Kiran currently works as Associate Professor in the department of Psychiatry, Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Bangalore. He is a recognized UG and PG medical teacher and is also registered with Karnataka Medical Council. He has numerous national and international research publications to his credit and is also an editor of a book titled "Glimpses of Psychiatry to Doctors and Medical Students". He is striving hard to improve mental health services in the country and has been an active member of this trust in fulfilling its objectives.
